Putin Ally Issues Ominous Nuclear Warning to Trump

President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus, a key ally of the Kremlin, said the U.S. giving Ukraine long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to use against Russia would lead to "nuclear war." Russia has deployed tactical nuclear weapons to its neighbour, Belarus, and they held a joint military exercise in September to practice launching them.

President Donald Trump is considering a request by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for Tomahawks so Kyiv can strike targets deep inside Russia, such as energy infrastructure, military bases and weapons factories. It would also put Moscow in range of Kyiv's forces and, Zelensky hopes, apply more pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin to make peace.

But Putin has said such a move would ruin the recent improvement in U.S.-Russia relations, and Trump is also wary of escalating a conflict that he has tried for months to end, mostly through diplomatic engagement with Moscow. With little progress, Trump is now considering how to coerce the Kremlin into ending its invasion of Ukraine.

"Tomahawks will not solve the problem. They will escalate the situation to a nuclear war,"

Lukashenko said at a meeting in Minsk on Tuesday, the state-owned BelTA news agency reported. "Perhaps Donald Trump understands this better than anyone, as he is in no hurry to hand over this lethal weapon for deep strikes into Russian territory, as President Zelensky is counting on."

It's a stark nuclear warning to all!
